The Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg has released new images to mark the tenth wedding anniversary of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie.

Four photographs were released of the Hereditary Grand Ducal Couple to mark the special anniversary; they were taken by Sophie Margue.

Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume married Belgian-born Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy in a civil ceremony on 19 October conducted by then Luxembourg Mayor Xavier Bettel. Their religious ceremony took place the following day at Notre Dame Cathedral before the couple appeared on the balcony of the Grand Ducal Palace before the cheering crowds.

Royals from all over Europe were in the congregation to watch the pair say, “I do.” It was the last big royal wedding for an heir to the throne in Europe that has been held.

Guillaume and Stéphanie broke with royal ‘tradition’ and waited to have their first child until several years after their wedding as the pair wanted to settle into married life and their royal roles before becoming parents. The couple currently have one son – Prince Charles, who was born on 10 May 2020. They announced in September that they are expecting their second child, due in April 2023.

Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume is first in line to the Grand Ducal Throne of Luxembourg as the eldest child of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.
