Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg is now married.
Alexandra married her fiancé, Nicolas Bagory, in a civil ceremony at Luxembourg City Hall in the presence of their families. A choir was also present for the ceremony that was conducted by Mayor Lydie Polfer.
Cameras did not film the civil ceremony, but the press and public could see the couple after exiting City Hall.
The couple took the time to greet the public and shake some hands before heading to the Grand Ducal Palace, where they made a short balcony appearance.
The Grand Ducal Family also greeted the crowds before returning to the palace. All of Alexandra’s brothers (Princes Guillaume, Felix, Louis and Sebastian) were in attendance. The wives of Guillaume and Felix, Princesses Stephanie and Claire, also attended. None of Alexandra’s niece and nephews made an appearance at the civil ceremony.
A reception followed in the evening at the Grand Ducal Palace for the families, government officials and guests.
A religious ceremony will occur on 29 April at Saint Trophyme Church in Var, France.
The couple has asked that people send donations to Lëtzebuerger Blannevereenegung Foundation and the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess Foundation in lieu of gifts. More information on how to make donations can be made here.
Princess Alexandra is the only daughter of the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg. She is sixth in the Luxembourgish line of succession.
Nicolas Bagory grew up in France and works on social and cultural projects in Paris.
The couple’s engagement was announced in November 2022.
